چکیده
The derivation of minimal bioreaction models is primary importance to develop monitoring and control strategies cell/microorganism culture production. These can be obtained based on the selection a basis elementary flux modes (EFMs) using an algorithm starting from relatively large set EFMs progressively reducing their numbers geometric least-squares residual criteria. reaction rates associated with selected usually have complex features resulting combination different activation, inhibition saturation effects several species. Multilayer perceptrons (MLPs) are used in order undertake representation these rates, hybrid dynamic model combining mass-balance equations provided by rate described MLPs. To further reduce number kinetic parameters model, pruning algorithms for MLPs also considered. whole procedure ends up reduced-order macroscopic that show promising prediction results, as illustrated data perfusion cultures hybridoma cell line HB-58.

Supervised Models C1.2 Multilayer perceptrons
This section introduces multilayer perceptrons, which are the most commonly used type of neural network. The popular backpropagation training algorithm is studied in detail. The momentum and adaptive step size techniques, which are used for accelerated training, are discussed. Other acceleration techniques are briefly referenced. Several implementation issues are then examined. The issue of gen...
متن کاملDynamic metabolic models of CHO cell cultures through minimal sets of elementary flux modes.
The concept of Elementary Flux Modes (EFMs) has been of central importance in a number of studies involving the analysis of metabolism. In Provost and Bastin (2007) this concept is used to translate the metabolic networks of the different phases of CHO cell cultures into macroscopic bioreactions linking extracellular substrates to products. However, a critical issue concerns the calculation of ...
متن کاملLinks Between Markov Models and Multilayer Perceptrons
Hidden Markov models are widely used for automatic speech recognition. They inherently incorporate the sequential character of the speech signal and are statistically trained. However, the a-priori choice of the model topology limits their flexibility. Another drawback of these models is their weak discriminating power. Multilayer perceptrons are now promising tools in the connectionist approac...
متن کاملMultilayer Perceptrons based on Fuzzy Flip- Flops
The concept of fuzzy flip-flop was introduced in the middle of 1980’s by Hirota (with his students). The Hirota Lab recognized the essential importance of the concept of a fuzzy extension of a sequential circuit and the notion of fuzzy memory. From this point of view they proposed alternatives for “fuzzifying” digital flip-flops. The starting elementary digital units were the binary J-K flipflo...
متن کاملRobust generation of elementary flux modes
Elementary flux modes (EFMs) are vectors defined from a metabolic reaction network, giving the connections between substrates and products. EFMs-based metabolic flux analysis (MFA) estimates the flux over each EFM from external flux measurements through least-squares data fitting. In previous work we presented an optimization method of column generation type that facilitates EFMs-based MFA when...
